Faculty Bios  May 13, 2008



Amy Adams - Miss Adams lives in Kingsport.  She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004 with a BS in Applied Learning and Development and a Specialization in Elementary Education.  She will be teaching Literature.  Miss Adams currently works at Barnes and Noble and loves to teach and talk about great books. 

 

Rebecca Bishop - Mrs. Bishop lives in Kingsport with her husband and two daughters. She has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. Mrs. Bishop will be teaching our Geometry, American Government, and Practical Economics classes. She has been with KCA since the 2007/2008 school year.

Becky Brown - Mrs. Brown lives in Kingsport with her husband and children. She has a BA in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from Asbury College in Kentucky. She has been with KCA since our 2006/2007 school year. She will be teaching our middle and high school Spanish courses.

Jennifer Byrd - Mrs. Byrd lives in Kingsport with her husband and children. She is a 2002 graduate of East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in painting. She will be teaching our first and second grade art classes. She has been with KCA since our 2007/2008 school year.

Judith Easley - Mrs. Easley lives in Kingsport with her husband. She received her BA in Elementary Education from Centre College of Kentucky. Mrs. Easley has been with KCA since our 2005/2006 school year. She will be teaching our first and second grade science classes.

Emily Harding - Mrs. Harding lives in Blountville with her husband and children. She attended East Tennessee State University and received her BS in Elementary Education and Kindergarten Endorsement. Mrs. Harding has been with KCA since our 2006/2007 school year. She will be teaching our third and fourth grade science classes.

Estenia Lewis - Mrs. Lewis lives in Kingsport with her husband. She was born and raised in the mountains of Venezuela. She received her BS in Math from Memphis State University in 1979. In 1982, she received her Master of Science in Math Sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas. She has been with KCA since our 2007/2008 school year. She will be teaching our pre-algebra and our elementary Spanish classes.

Ginger Little - Mrs. Little lives in Kingsport with her husband and son. She has a BA in English, with a minor in Spanish from East Tennessee State University. She has been with KCA since our 2006/2007 school year. She will be teaching our Institute for Excellence in Writing courses.

Suzanne Lyle – Mrs. Lyle lives in Jonesborough with her husband and two daughters, one of whom she home schooled for several years.   She has a BS in Mathematics from Western Carolina University and has taught math for several years in a local high school as well as for Northeast State.   She will be teaching Trigonometry, Calculus, Algebra II, and Physical Science. 

Anne Marie Pierce - Mrs. Pierce lives with her husband and children in Kingsport. She graduated from Carson Newman college with a degree in education and taught school for 8 years before staying home with her two daughters. She will be teaching History Based Writing and IEW A.

Patricia Steele - Mrs. Steele lives in Kingsport with her husband and children. She has a BA in Sociology, a BA in Elementary Education, and an Elementary Teaching Certificate held from the Association of Christian Schools International. She has been with KCA since our 2007/2008 school year. She will be teaching our third, fourth, and fifth grade art classes.

Nancy Strickland - Mrs. Strickland lives in Kingsport with her husband. She homeschooled her children, both of whom have graduated high school and are in college. Mrs. Strickland graduated from the University of Georgia with an degree in education and taught in private schools here in the United States as well as overseas. Mrs. Strickland will be teaching Zoology to the 5th and 6th graders at KCA.

Annette True – Mrs. True lives in Kingsport with her husband and two daughters.  She graduated in 1992 from Hanover College with a BA in Education and in 1999 she graduated from Indiana University with a MA in School Administration.  She will be teaching Algebra I, Chemistry, Biology, and General Science.  Mrs. True has worked individually with home schooled students in the past and has a passion for science and math.
